The Conjuring

I love scary/horror movies and I've watched plenty of movies over the past couple years. At the top of the list for scary movies would be The Conjuring. The fact that it's based on a true story seems cool and the acting was superb throughout the movie. I wouldn't say it was really that scary, but it had a great storyline and use of camera angles  as well.

Plagiarism Post

I felt like the article reading on plagiarism was a decent read, rather long, but brought good insight about the issue of plagiarism. Lethem had good examples also that helped validate the reading.

How can we as college students completely eliminate the issue of plagiarism? Because there seems to be a fine line sometimes.

Reflection on Outline/Storyboard

My outline/storyboard went well for the most part. The storyboard caused a little more trouble just because with my topic I was going to use more film than pictures but I haven't been able to get most of the film I want so I had to improvise. The outline I thought was pretty good. It explained why I had chosen this topic and I gave great answers to the questions I selected which will help me later in the semester.

Frustration about Documentary So Far

The one thing that has been frustrating so far has been trying to find the pictures for the storyboard. I know specifically of one picture that I haven't been able to get yet, but will be able to Saturday at the game. So the process of waiting has been somewhat frustrating. But outside of that and probably a few other minor details, there has been any real frustration to deal with.

Outline Suggestions

After talking to two people about my outline/storyboard, I feel that I can get better pictures. Whether they are off the internet or retaking pictures, just to give the audience a better visual aid when it comes to the documentary/film as a whole.

Ryder's blog post

Ryder's blog post stuck out the most to me due to the fact that his topic is a very hot topic in the United States today. With gun violence at an all-time high I felt that his topic was perfect especially with the timing of what's going on now. I felt that his sources were credible and if he can get a good interview then his documentary has the potential to be exceptional.

This Weekend!

Saturday was probably one of the best nights I've had since I've been on campus. The football game against South Carolina was as hype as I've seen Commonwealth Stadium in the 6-7 years I've been going to football games. Not only that, it was probably one of the best games as well. The student section was great and it being a blackout and a night game made the atmosphere greater. I loved it. And after we won, I stormed the field with people from my dorm. It's something I'll never forget. #BBN #WeAreUK

My Research Presentation Thoughts

I felt that my presentation went pretty well. At first I kind of stumbled over my words, but once I got in a rhythm then it was easy to recite my info from the PowerPoint as well as additional information that pertained to that source. I feel that the sources I'm using for my documentary will help elevate my topic to an outstanding level. They covered all aspects of how football not only hurts the person playing in the present, but also how it hurts that person's family and friends depending on the injury.

The Queen of Versailles

I feel that the documentary touched on the theme of difference due to the fact that most people in the world don't have the opportunity to build their own homes. The vast majority of us don't have the luxury of modeling our homes after a famous home or building. So the fact that they were able to achieve both places them in another category due to their wealth, but also creativeness as they wanted to do something against the norm,
