"Is Google Making Us Stupid?" Reflection
After reading "Is Google Making Us Stupid" by Nicholas Carr I feel as if the main idea he was trying to get across was that in today's day and age we are constantly reading while on the go. Whether it's a text message or we need to look something up for a class we are always reading considerably fast. Google has become one of the world's greatest inventions due to it's layout and accessibility. When using Google, we simply type in a few keywords and thousands and even millions of results come up in several seconds. We skim through the websites to find what we need in several minutes and we're done. There's no real thought put into the soft research we just executed. This is what I feel Carr is trying to get across. Yes, we may read more now than at any time in history, but with the way Google and other search engines work, we don't necessarily have to put in a lot of work when doing research or finding out news because it's right there at our fingertips instead of in books.
